Leaders on this programme are committed to enabling every young person to benefit from a Big Education: one that is broad, balanced and develops the whole child. The Big Leadership Adventure helps education leaders from schools and the wider sector to develop the confidence, mindset and skills to more effectively support the education of children and young people, innovating with rigour and taking their teams with them.
The programme encourages leaders to debate and describe what a Big Education means to them and to explore what it means to lead with Head, Heart and Hand in equal measure. In order to achieve this, BLA leaders explore a variety of tools and practices from the UK and beyond, and work in deep collaboration with like-minded colleagues from schools and other educational organisations.
Big Education believes that leadership is the driving force behind systemic change, and this programme develops and supports education leaders who want to challenge the status quo.
The programme supports education leaders from across the sector to collaboratively tackle the “wicked” problems that schools face, exploring and designing innovative solutions with like-minded colleagues. Educators evaluate their own practices and those of their setting using the Big Education Diagnostic, a more expansive alternative to school self-evaluation
Big Leadership Adventure supports leaders to create a culture of belonging, relationships, and psychological safety that empowers and supports students and educators alike.
“Leadership is a catalyst for the change we want to see in education! Our leadership programme encourages leaders to BE brave and question the way things are normally done, develop new solutions, and create safe environments to make these changes happen.”
The BLA is for education leaders at all stages of their career. This includes all those working in the education sector, both in schools and beyond
